The exhibition “Cold and Firearms of the 16th – Early 20th Centuries” from the museum’s stock collections presents 60 examples of weapons in chronological order from the 16th century to the early 20th century by type and place of manufacture.
Cold weapons are most widely represented: daggers, knives, swords, epees, sabers, spears, halberds, axes, maces, spears and others. It is complemented by examples of the protective weapons of ancient warriors – cuirass, helmets.
Its most valuable exhibit is the ceremonial saber of the Polish king and Transylvanian prince Stefan Báthory from 1576.
The firearms on display include hunting rifles, pistols, carbines, trombones, and powder magazines.
