The exhibition “Folk Musical Instruments and Clothing of Transcarpathia”: represents folk musical instruments of Transcarpathia of the 19th-20th centuries: idiophones, membranephones, chordophones and aerophones (percussion, membrane, string, wind).
Children’s musical instruments are also quite fully displayed. Stringed musical instruments of the 17th-20th centuries and mechanical musical instruments and devices are also included.
The visitor will learn interesting information about the masters of folk musical instruments of Transcarpathia, and about the types of folk instrumental ensembles that existed and still exist in the region, in particular the so-called three-stringed musicians.
Also presented here is the richness and diversity of the costumes of local ethnographic groups of the population of Transcarpathia, the high artistic tastes and talent of the Hungarians and Romanians of the region.
The most fully represented complex of colorful costumes of the Transcarpathian Hutsuls (Rakhiv district). Another striking complex of folk costumes of the region is the clothing of the valleys of the Borzhava, Rika, Tereblya and Teresva rivers.
Boykiv clothing is represented mainly by samples from the Mizhhirya and Volovets districts. The southwestern part of Transcarpathia is represented by samples from Perechyn region, the south of Uzhhorod, Mukachevo, and Svalyavsky districts.
