Transcarpathia in the period of the 8th – early 20th centuries

The exhibition “Transcarpathia in the Period of the 8th – Early 20th Centuries” is located in four halls and consists of 11 sections on the most important milestones in the history of the region.

Chronologically, it covers more than a thousand-year period in the history of our region and is created on the basis of original exhibits from the museum’s collections.

Special attention is deserved by the documents and manuscripts of the 16th-17th centuries, samples of cold steel and firearms of the 12th-18th centuries, protective armor of warriors, valuable archaeological finds, household items, tools, etc. Many unique items are exhibited for the first time.

A significant place here is given to the history of the Uzhhorod Castle and its owners. The exhibition is complemented by skillfully crafted museum installations, mannequins, models, paintings, portraits, photo illustrations, and scientific and auxiliary material.
